The school child demands greatly with "we want to eat RICE more" school lunch.

The child who hopes for "Rice school lunch" within one week every day by result of the questionnaire where it goes to about 2000 school children who participated in "Child meal cooking class" executed in 11 places in the whole country in October in August is the entire 29%. 26% that hopes for four times during the week and ratios assumed to be "I want to eat rice more than the current" when putting it together exceed 55% and the majorities. On the other hand, the elementary school where frequency of meal school lunch serves 43% and a lot of meal three times a week under the present situation every day is only 13%. The child of 64% eats meal in 30% and suppers in breakfast at home every day.

It is understanding that the needs "I want to eat rice at school lunch much more than now" is very strong from the result. The popularity of bread and noodles is high respectively also in the children in the very delicious one as well as rice. However, needs "I want to eat rice more" are also strong on the other hand. Moreover, the demand might have to be answered when thinking about the current state whose rice is an overproduction in Japan.

The diversification of food is called out in Japan, and because the school is characterized, the school lunch rich in variety is liked. 　It is good to answer child's needs by devising it. For instance, not normal rice but a usual fried rice and meal system staple food other than cleaned rice like the mix meal are offered on the day of bread and noodles. Or, the day when the child can choose the staple food of the meal system, the bread system, and the noodles system beforehand is offered. It is like a restaurant!
