The name of the Yakult baseball team becomes "Tokyo Yakult Swallows".

Yakult applies for the name change at the professional baseball executive committee in December last year. The owner's more than nine baseball teams equivalent to 3/4 of the 12 baseball teams by regulations of the baseball agreement approval was necessary. The owner of 11 baseball teams including Yakult admitted by the 10th.

It speaks of one's aspiration as follows in the announcement release on the name change.

Tokyo Yakult Swallows thinks that they can contribute to people in the region healthy, rich life creations by matching power to the administration, a private company, a school, others, and various groups in the region, and creating a rich living space.

"Dream and impression" is brought, and the common subject is offered to the region through the entertainment of baseball, and the enjoyment of watching and assistance is brought.

Moreover, we devote our energies to the baseball spread activity. We want to aim at harmony with the region, to contribute to the child-making and the young person-making with which stoutness overflows, and to come.

We build mutual trust with many people, are loved by the fan, and make an effort to manage the team making and the baseball team it is possible to boast of the fan, and to offer "Dream and impression". Please continue your favors toward the support of everybody that doesn't change.

Yakult tries to deepen bond with the region or more in the baseball team management and to pile up this name change.
